The cancer I first focused on was: Breast Cancer Care. http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/ This part of the charity targets women mainly, who are suffering from breast cancer, to provide the help and support they need to get through a very challenging and emotional time in their lives. They also works closely with cancer survivors to raise awareness of the disease in an attempt to lower the percentage of deaths caused by breast cancer in the UK. There are various tabs on the website which able the person viewing the site to browse around and become more aware of breast cancer. There are also adds for Breast Cancer Campaigns, and various marathon style runs in order to raise money for breast cancer UK. Breast Cancer Research relies heavily on the donations made by supporters of the company, so therefore advertisements are in place to make people want to donate. However many people have family members who have been effected by breast cancer, and therefore choose to donate without hesitation due to the recent suffering they have endured. The company advertises itself, however the use of emotive language and clever slogans play a huge part in the general intention of advertising the charity.
